Farmhouse Storage

~Farmhouse Storage~

Welcome to this month's Farmhouse Friday where we are talking about storage in our homes today. Older homes never seem to have enough storage and even though my home isn't old, I still like to use vintage finds that I decorate with for more storage space like this large European basket. Enjoy! xoxo K.

It is used as a coffee table in my living room, but also holds extra blankets and linens. I have many different shapes and sizes of baskets throughout my home and they all are used to hold extra items.

Another great extra storage solution in my home are the many cupboards that I decorate with. This one works great as both storage behind the closed doors and also to display items on the open shelves.

This French oyster basket is the perfect size to hold my collection of Jeanne d' arc Living magazines.

The other side of my living room has a large armoire that houses a TV and stereo along with another European basket that displays vintage grain sacks.

By using baskets that you are already decorating with to hold extra items that you aren't using but might want easy access to you are creating open storage. This French basket underneath the table at the foot of my bed which holds blankets and pillows along with another French metal basket to hold more magazines are a good example of keeping things contained.

Another large cupboard in this room also holds a TV and stereo with the drawers being perfect for clothing and I've added some more French baskets on top, not only for looks, but to hold (you guessed it) more linens! I might have an obsession...

My laundry room has an old shoe rack that I've filled with many different kinds of baskets to hold extra fabric that I use for sewing projects( if only I could find the time to sew again).

In this bathroom I've added a metal rack for extra towels and toilet paper along with a metal basket hanging on the wall for even more extra towels.

And finally in my master bathroom where we didn't have built in cabinets made, I use this shelf which is open to display items on top and has a curtain on the bottom for some other bathroom necessities.

I hope I've given you some storage ideas you could use in your own home. Please stop by these other lovely ladies for even more ideas and inspiration.
